Bargaining Continued with Start to Economic Discussions

This week, Kroger Delta and UFCW Local 1529 met with the full bargaining committee to continue negotiations.

What happened this week

  • The company opened economic discussions by sharing a “State of the Division” presentation led by Division Vice President of Operations Niki Harvey.
  • The presentation focused on the competitive environment and the work the division is doing to serve customers, grow the business, and remain competitive.
  • The company and union also exchanged healthcare proposals and had meaningful discussions about healthcare benefits.

Why this matters
Economic topics such as wages, healthcare, pensions, and other benefits are some of the most important and complex parts of bargaining. These conversations often require detailed discussion, careful analysis, and multiple meetings before agreements are reached.

These discussions are a normal and important step in the bargaining process.

What’s next
The company remains committed to bargaining in good faith and working with the union to reach an agreement that invests in associates and supports the long-term success of the division.

The company and union will continue healthcare discussions next week and plan to meet again in August with the full committee. We will continue to share updates as negotiations move forward. Thank you for your continued professionalism and dedication to serving our customers every day.
